This compact site, dominated by the architectural footprint of the home, offered limited garden space—yet abundant design potential.

Given creative freedom, I conceived a layout that visually extends the narrow terrace along the front of the house. A rhythmic arrangement of dark and light stone strips, reminiscent of piano keys, was used to draw the eye outward toward the sweeping valley views, breaking the confined proportions.

A central bed with sculptural trees adds vertical punctuation, while the side garden—often in deep shade—was kept minimalist with gravel and large-format pavers, echoing the home’s linear language. A narrow reflective pond near the entrance adds a final, serene focal point.

The sloped verge was treated with wild grass planting, executed with intentional restraint, demonstrating that elegance often lies in simplicity.
